Sounds a bit expensive for a cheap sports car. You'll have brakes worth more than the car.

They're swapping them out because they are using a bad quality setup (usually OE) which are extremely expensive to replace. The next generation of discs solve the previous gen's issues with premature wear.
If there were options that did not cost more than the car and were within the budget of the majority of track-focused cars (and even street), do you think there would be interest?
