If my memory serves, that's what pad knockback feels like. Hydraulically everything is fine, the brakes work, the pedal doesn't go to the floor, there's just that bigger deadzone on initial pedal press. Does it go away if you pump the pedal?

Or maybe it's just a softer pad material. :shrug:
