So I've been putting in the hours for WRC Generations as I just can't get into EA WRC. I have to admit it's one of my favorite racing titles thus far and hits top three in terms of time played behind FM7 and Dirt Rally 2.0. And while I love the game, jumping back to Dirt Rally really reminds me how obsessed WRC Generations is with rain. Nearly every event features multiple races in the rain, or it begins to rain at some point in the race. The weather predictions might as well be 50/50 or 100% because even when it says no rain or 0-20%, that essentially means 100% because it will rain at some point. In all my time playing, there is only one location that it never features rain. That's it. While not that big of a deal in gravel, tarmac suffers the most. It's hard to predict and I usually have to have at least one set of rain tires. Worst of all, my favorite location Monte Carlo, features asphalt and snow. It's how it was in Dirt Rally 2.0 and EA WRC. However, Generations throws rain into the mix too! Like WHY?! So I have to cross tread either snow/rain, asphalt/rain, or snow/asphalt just to get through every stage. It's that prevalent. Even the events where it's snow/asphalt the majority, it's almost guaranteed that rain will occur at least at some point in the race! I've never seen a strange obsession with "dynamic" weather where it's so unpredictable yet has a pattern. Even Project Cars was not like that.
Anyway, that's my small rant about a game I seriously love. I may give EA WRC another try, but I just can't get passed the shudders, shitty graphics that are worse than DR2.0, and a seriously lack-luster career mode.
