Not that you have to read the book, she's just lazy. That and not wanting to talk during the film.
So much was changed it would definitely be a convo for after the movie.
1 not so much.
So much shit changed in two its nowhere near the book.

This is gonna be long sry.

The changes between the book and the first movie were minimal.
This is of course leave out thing that were dropped.
Kynes a dude.
How he/she died.

Book vs 2nd movie chaned a fk ton.
Chani is actually Kynes daughter. (not having to do with the plot at all so whateves)

Between the beginning of the movie and Gurney showing up is actually 3-4 years not the few months we see in the movie. Chani/Paul have a kid in that time. That kid dies.
And Alia is also born and kills the Baron not Paul. Gom-Jabar XD.
Ages at end of first Book
Paul 18-19
Chani 17-18
Alia 3-4
Ages in this movie.
Paul 15
Chani 14
Alia not born.

Rabban gets killed in a one sentence line. "Rabban is also dead."
That is it. We don't know who or how he died. But all the films and the mini series do show what happened and IMO makes them better.

The Guild are the ones with the real power. The emperor is more or less just a puppet.
Just change spice to oil and Arrakis to the middle east and you kinda see where Frank Herbert was coming from when he wrote the books.

The whole great houses thing not accepting his rise as the emperor also isn't a thing in the book.
They are totally setting up for the 61 billion people killed in his name that we find out about at the start of the next book. In the book those people were killed because they wouldn't convert the the church of Muad'Dib basically.

And one of the biggest ones.
Chani totally doesn't leave at the end.
She know that the marriage to the princess is a political thing and nothing else.
That is a huge plot point in the next book.

More changes from the book that as of now aren't nearly as plot relevant.
The whole north vs south religion thing doesn't exist.
Stilgar doesn't do that whole Lisan Al Gaib over and over thing either.
Becoming a "Fremen" thing doesn't exist. It's just a right of passage to lead men into battle.
Chani's Fremen name is a pet name Paul came up for her.
