Especially for some of us with remap that use less than OEM map the port injectors, so valves are not cleaned the same!
My '17 consumed near-enough zero oil between changes at 5k miles and usually 4-6 track days. Like, none. New car similar so far, 15k miles in, essentially zero oil consumption. In the old car, mph at Watkins Glen was the same every year, from new to 78k miles, so I don't think I was losing any power due to oil/carbon buildup or whatever over the years/mileage.

IMO, you dont need an air/oil separator or catch can, but go ahead if you wanna.
