Not hard to do. A couple of years ago, I stripped out the threads for a timing belt idler on an ej.

There wasn't enough room for a drill. I used a "T" handle on the drill bit and was able to bore out the hole manually. Aluminum is soft so it wasn't too difficult. Tapped it, screwed in the coil, and was good to go.

You don't have to worry too much about getting the hole straight because the existing hole is already straight.
