2. Later on once they realize they did way more than I asked for, they suggested simplifying this one thing. So I tried it but the code wouldn't work because it currently expects the non simplified version. So I messaged them saying that and should I update it to expect the simpler thing. Their response was "we just need to simplify that and don't need to do what you're saying."

I literally already did this and instead of trying to understand what I tried they literally repeat the thing I said I already tried that didn't work.
