As for the sound, you're missing my point. The aftermarket intake produces lots of sound PLUS the additional sound the sound tube pipes in. It's not like having the sound tube hooked up deletes all other engine noise. You'll still have your regular aftermarket intake sound, it will only be amplified by the additional sound coming through the sound tube. Is that illogical? :shrug:

That's very logical, and in most cases probably correct. Whatever sounds the aftermarket intake is making, it will be translated into the cabin by the sound tube. And by all means, if that is what your after, then keep it in. I agree about "popping" the hood at an event when the car is brand new and stock (besides the curious folks) but I am anal about some things like extra crap roaming about. Less is more in my eyes when it comes to under hood appearance.
