Unfortunately, thermostatic control alone doesn't prevent over-cooling. They always allow some flow through the cooler to prevent thermal shock. I can't daily mine with any more than half flow through the cooler but it works perfectly for running flat out. All I have to do is reach down and adjust the lever.

I'm already looking at downsizing. The 34 row cooler has a 1.5-2 psi drop and a little more wiggle room on fitment.
