She's not fully my "type" either but we get along well as friends, she's able to have a professional job, and, at least before this, I thought she was smart (which to me is attractive ). Good lord lol.

I'm not like super pissed off about it and I won't dwell on it, but the whole "you'd have embarrassed yourself" is making me seriously cringe.
I suggest you not dwell on that experience.

When and if the "right" woman comes along, you will know it.
