As for appearance, I drive with my hood closed, so I don't care what it looks like under the hood. Our cars don't have too much eye candy anyway, so my hood stays closed at car shows.
As for the sound, you're missing my point. The aftermarket intake produces lots of sound PLUS the additional sound the sound tube pipes in. It's not like having the sound tube hooked up deletes all other engine noise. You'll still have your regular aftermarket intake sound, it will only be amplified by the additional sound coming through the sound tube. Is that illogical? :shrug:
