I do want to upgrade one more time (I dont think i'll be doing it soon, but i'd like to do it before the 5000 chips becomes EoL, which i suspect will be soon)

The choices boils down to:

Ryzen 7 5800X
Ryzen 7 5800X3d
Ryzen 9 5900X

-The 5800X is the obvious choice if my primary concern is budget, as its the cheapest out of the 3 by a fair margin.
-The 5800X3D seems to still be one of the best gaming CPU options right now so if I want the best gaming performance on AM4 this might be the route to take.
-The 5900X is 12core/24 thread vs the 8/16 of the other two so perhaps if it looks like more cores is the future this might be the way to go.

As of right now where i live the 5800X3D and the 5900X are within 20 bucks of each other.....

Which would you go for? I thought the 5800x3d would be the way to go but the extra cores of the 5900x got me thinking a bit more.

If it matters i have an Asus B450M A/CSM mobo. Im aware i'd probably need to use a more beefy aftermarket fan to use these CPUs (and no i wont be overclocking)
I also do direct comparos like that on userbenchmark.

Generally, it's a good place to get an idea of performance and price all in one place but some of the recent GPU pricing nonsense made the pricing section inaccurate.
