The nut came off fairly easy, it’s the step of popping it out that proved difficult. No rust. Now that I see what I wrote, impact tools wouldn’t help with this. A pickle fork… yes, something that might have helped. I tried with a screwdriver for a few minutes I whacked it with a hammer and a socket until my arm was tired, and it was later in the day so wrapped it up putting it back together.

Maybe some kind of inverse-jack-clamp type of thing would help. Clamp onto the bottom and push the bolt through.
