Yes, kind of. It's not called that, but just an application of basic dynamics models. Mostly can ignore aero for larger stones. If you really want to be precise you'd first have to do the aero model and then make alterations to the dynamics model based on expected airflow. With mud or liquid then your aero changes and you have to iterate...
But some things are just easier with common sense and testing.
