Basic stuff - not for everyone - but its cool.
Everyone that gets a tune is really going to want a cable - Only EcuTek cables work with EcuTek software. Tactrix , vagcom or anything else will not work.
The cable will be used for data logging, flashing updates and going back to stock.
The cable can work on more than one car - cable supports, All 04STi+ 06WRX+, EVOX, Mazda MX-5, Mazda Speed 3/6s, Nissan Juke, Nissan GTR, Subaru Diesel, and by the end of the summer Nissan 350/370Z

I know that the Tactrix and VAGCOM don't work on this platform, I was just using them as examples of hardware that you can borrow from a friend.
I also don't own any of those other cars, so I'm not sure why the broad application list would be relevant except for resale value of the cable. In fact, it kind of makes the idea of sharing a cable between people even more logical...
I think data logging, flashing updates, and returning to stock are excellent features. I just don't see why I would need to own my own, personal cable in order to access these features. I would rather split the cost between a few friends (who possibly own one of the vehicles from the broad list of applications). I don't plan on data logging, reflashing, and returning to stock tune often enough that I would need to have my own cable as opposed to a shared one.
So, is it possible to purchase the tune and license without the cable?
