I grill pretty often so I can bring the grilling equipment, charcoal, cooler, and some food. If I have time, I'll try and make homemade burgers and will need a headcount later.

A possibility, however there is the toll on the bridge (I'll be paying it anyway. I don't know if anyone else will have to depending on where they live) and the entrance fees for both parks. FDR was 8$ when I went and I believe Bear Mountain is 8$ as well. Don't know if people would want to pay for both.

I'll give them a call tomorrow (If they're open, if not early next week) and see what they say. I don't see why they won't let us do some grilling. It's not like we're 100+ cars!
