it's always fun reading the comments on questions like this, as you can tell who's pulled the a-pillar covers and who hasn't.
hint:
the airbags are to cushion the blow of an impact, mostly to the drivers head. there is no reason the drivers head will ever occupy the space forward of the steering wheel.
