I think most people complaining about power doesn’t have tight twisty roads or understand why this car was built. Sometimes you have to appreciate cars at face value.
If they added a turbo and didn’t upset the close to 50/50 weight distribution then expect them costing another 10k or in the low 40s. Then the car would lose its appeal because you could spend a little more and get a substantially better built vehicle.
For its price point/performance/looks it has a great niche in the price point market.

If you actually look in the engine bay, the back of the engine isn't very close to the firewall at all. The bellhousing is completely visible.
That's why it's more like 53/47 vs 50/50.
