Ptuning machines the back side of the pump to allow it to sit through the mounting plate a bit further. From pictures it looks like AVO is doing the same. Here is the best pic I can find from when I was running their pump with my custom setup. Luckily at that time they were willing to sell me just the pump and mounting plate for a reasonable price. If you look at the area pointed out below you can see how much material was removed compared to your unmodified pump. That little tab sits flush to the plate.

Ahhh perfect! I was starting to wonder if that's what was machined when I was looking at one of the pics, thanks for verifying that!
I even asked PTuning if they'd sell me just those two parts, they said no. They also said "by the way, you'll need to modify the pump" and wouldn't go into any further detail
So that's what started me down this rabbit hole. Now to find a machinist!
