Tuned cold start and oil dilution
I'm on E85 through OFT and Wayne's ROM. It is accepted that cold start (high rpm, valve timing, ignition retard) is mainly used to warm cats.
To our tunes we take them off because we don't have any more cats and we don't want to wake up our neighbors.
I read in CAR TROTTLE, that the ECU increases engine speed at initial idle to also ensure that all excess fuel is expelled from the cylinders faster than normal.
The dilution of the fuel in the oil takes place during the starting phases. I wonder, and especially for those who are at E85, if it is really relevant to remove the cold start procedure?
Sorry if this topic has been covered before but I couldn't find any real answers.
