Mine had a bit of lag, but not much. Depended on where I had the phone situated - as my OBDII port is in my trunk.... with a couple firewalls and a motor in between. With it plugged in to the port in the cabin of the FRS/BRZ it should read pretty seamlessly. I was getting smooth revs, speedometer, short term and long term fuel trims, etc. Never can have too much data!
