Even then you are wrong since it appears that you used this site http://www.ccsd.ca/factsheets/fs_avgin.htmlwhich converts all the years into 1995 dollars. The actual median family income in 1975 dollars (which you are showing costs in) was $14,000. Be rich as hell if the average was $50K in 1975.
sorry, i just got curious about the median income at the time.

i had found that averaged-to-1995 dollars link first, i thought the twitter one was different for some reason.

just proves that the internet makes any fact true if it's reposted enough.
