For the fun of it:
There's a difference between the concept of value, ownership, and possession. I can own something valueless or value something I don't own. I can possess or not possess either of those objects.
-The old karting head sock I use as a coaster on my desk has no value but I do own and possess it.
-I have a wife, I value my wife, but I don't own her.
-I own shares in corporations, but those don't come with any possessions.
-I borrowed a book from a colleague and it is in my possession, but I don't own it.
