I've kept the air pressure bang-on what's shown on the door plate for the entire life of the car. I picked up a tread depth tool and the depth is consistent across the contact patch of the tire, so pressure isn't an issue.

Based on the whole discussion, I really think the problem points to an alignment issue. Other summer tires I've owned (PSS's and PS4S) have lasted 20~25K miles with similar, or even worse abuse. These are only going to last around 11~12K at the rate they're wearing out.
