We can complain all we want, but Subaru(and Toyota) wont do anything until they have actual failed engines in their hands.. and not just a handful. These motors have to be blowing left and right... similar to the valve spring recall and it's whole situation of motors blowing left and right due to techs over-applying sealant on the timing chain cover.
that being said.. there are tons of brz/gr86 that have A LOT of miles with no issues on em.
someone posted their brz with 50k miles already and claims he hasnt had issues. im currently waiting to see if he ever got his car checked for RTV or not.

We know of very few that have actually failed.
It has been discussed over and over that the sealant in the pickup alone is not likely to be the issue.
Of the failures that we have details (about 8) all were on a track and at least 3 had records of overrev.
At this point it would appear to be much ado about nothing.
