To be fair, if I was buying today and let's say that the current version of the BRZ was still the 2020 version (1st gen at its best) and the 86 was the new version, I would absolutely opt for the new version.

But with money being no object (which it is not) I would not/have not give any consideration to replacing my existing 2020 with a 2nd gen. The biggest difference is the power, and if power was a major issue I would not buy any version of an 86/BRZ.
