Either money (which also means value) isn't a consideration or it is.

When I bought the FRS, I was considering cars that cost more than twice as much all of which I could afford. However, the FRS was the better bang for the buck for me. (money).

If money was no concern, I would have purchased the Camaro ZL1 or the Cadillac CTS-V that was also on my shopping list, or maybe a Ferrari 458 Italia that wasn't on my reality list.....

Point made, I officially give up.
I am truly baffled how the statement "If money is NOT a factor" is either ignored or misunderstood in the context of this question. Maybe he should have said "what reasons other than cost?" or "I know there is a difference in costs but what else would make you want a Gen 1?".

Strangely enough, at this moment in time, if financing, it is probably cheaper to get a Gen 2 (assuming you can find one and pay MSRP for it) then a good, low mileage, late MY Gen 1. When you consider that used car finance rates are significantly higher than new and late MY cars are retailing for near their new prices the Gen 2 is probably the better financial deal.
