This is the part that gets me, nothing I read about the CPU Fan error mentioned to check the CMOS battery. Not the motherboard manual, not the ASUS web-site or any of the on-line FAQ's/forums, nada, zip, zero, zilch! It was the date/time not keeping that clued me in.

I still have all my old computers going back to my very first one, a 1st gen 386. (May even have the wife's 1st 286...) With my luck they will all have different batteries and some are likely not made anymore.
