So many seem to think that the dealers pay for warranty work out of their own pocket or something. It is paying and profitable work not charity.
Even the car companies build the warranty costs into the prices so they are not losing on individual warranty repairs either. Sure a $20K engine replacement seems huge to the consumer but it is not even a glimmer of a slice of a blip on Toyota's books. They don't even start to take notice until you get something like the airbag recalls that cost them hundreds of millions. Even then their profit numbers didn't go down those couple of years so we all know who pays in the long run.
