There are two possible scenarios here.
The techs are right and the engine blew due to an over rev and have just done a crappy job of saying what they found. Unfortunately the nature of the damage does appear to be this so it may be a rough fight to prove otherwise. The way it is written doesn’t make much sense though. Not sure what the disabled stuff is about at all.
The techs are making shit up to get out of warranty work. If this is the case going and talking to them again is not going to get you anyplace.
Dealerships get paid to do warranty work and do it every single day so there really is no reason for them to make up stories to avoid it.

i have no doubt that the techs are trying to avoid warranty work. Most of the time, warranty work pays techs next to nothing
if there was an instance of over-rev and that was the reason the engine blew, then i agree it was worded very poorly.
i feel regardless the tech and service writer have to reword it to either sound correct, or show proof to back up what they are claiming.
