The japan built filters have more pleats than the USA/Taiwan. Toyota Canada only list these as compatible on the GR now. Is there a reason, or is it due to supply chain etc? Who knows. I know it is trivial, nitpicky... But if your dealer told you the old filter is ok to use, well technically its not
