I'm hesitant to opt for those gutter shields because the asphalt shingles do leave little stone heaps in the gutters over time.
At this point, I'm inclined to just remove the mesh and let the gutters do their thing.

Get the open mesh guard. Keeps the big crap out but doesn't plug up with the stones. I did it a couple of years ago and have never had to clean the gutters again.
