He's playing a shell game transferrring the car between his own entities to make it look like the car is a new addition to his inventory.

If it's not sold by October they will come back again I'm sure. We left it at yes, we want it... whenever you are ready to sell it or tired of looking at it. Maybe I'm being a douche canoe and if I am... please tell me. I think we are being fair about it.
the used market was going to 'crash' eventually. when all the prices spiked, it was only a matter of time before someone was left holding the hot potato.

but any dealer playing the 'new car!' shell game is likely not worth dealing with at any price.
