when the FAA took over drone management with the registration of anything that flies, and now the remote id broadcast requirements, it's all but entirely killed off aerial r/c as a hobby.
the local forest preserve has a dedicated flying field. used to be every weekend there was barely enough parking spaces for all the people there, half of which were just there to chew the fat with other similarly-minded individuals.
now that field, if there's 1 car there, it's a busy day.
this is going to be similar. the war path the EPA is on doesn't bode well for any company that's ever sold anything that mods the emissions systems of any vehicle. and how many peoples first mod was a UEL catless header?

They probably would've gotten a different ruling had they not ignored the EPA's requests and then tried to liquidate their inventory in spite of the investigation.
