TIL that if you try to cancel Dish Network just because you don't want it any longer the process takes 30 to 45 minutes. But, if you tell them the person in the house has passed away (even if it's technically not true), it takes less than 5, although they still try to get you to "transfer it to a family member that could use the longevity credits".

I needed to cancel it at two places, my home (we've cut that cord) and my in-law's house which I was paying for as well to help them out (I've cut their cord). We now get the same channels (at least those we watch) for less than 1/3rd the price of Dish.
