But if they were so similar, why do you hate the new one so much? hehe.

The overall shape/dimensions is similar but that is it. Often times, the details are what matters. For example, why are 996s so hated amongst 911 enthusiasts? And the 911 is the one model that have really kept to their overall shape over the years.

Again, looks are subjective. And dated doesn't mean bad. There are many samples of dated cars looking beautiful, S2000, NSX, ITR, E36 etc.
