I guess I should say they are serviceable, it's just a personal preference.
Mostly it's the wire. Just don't care for the way it "works" as storage. Small things fall through it, things on it develop "ridges", and most systems are not very flexible once you install them. I also think they are generally ugly.
That said, if you get get
shelf covers for them, most of that goes away, except for maybe the flexibility.
