What still confuses me is that the oil pan and method of sealing it are identical to the Ascent FA24F and all the newer 2.5 engines. This means hundreds of thousands of cars a year for at least the last 5 years should be exposed to the same risk. There is not one word about any other models with the same issue. If it is just the oil pan sealant then what is different about the FA24D that creates the problem?
I feel there is still a piece of the puzzle that hasn't been found yet.
