I've owned a Z3M Coupe, E36-series 325i, 135is, (kinda) an X1, and a 750i XDrive. I've liked all of them, so I guess you can say I'm a BMW fan, but not in a slavish devotion to the brand kind of way.
The M240i XDrive is rear-wheel-drive based (unlike the 2-series Gran Coupe); aside from that - Overall design, interior quality, tuning potential. I assume we're talking about new-production cars and I'm not sure that there's anything at the price point that provides the all-around package.
