Agreed, that "flat spot" on the front (that isn't actually completely flat, but close to it) was a poor design choice by Subaru. I always figured I would run the plate in the center, so I let the dealer drill the bumper. Now that I wanted to run a relocate kit, I needed something to cover the drilled holes, and also the threaded inserts it came with, so the BRZ plate was appealing.
I think you have to do
something with that "flat spot" on the front. It is going to stick out no matter what you do, so you might as well have some fun with it in my opinion.
