There was something left off the paperwork that I’m pretty sure they could have used as a way of doing whatever they wanted. Totally my fault, embarrassing to admit but just as a reminder for others out there:

In the heat of the moment I guess. I thought about taking it back to them to sign when I realized much later on.. I have a feeling we would have come to this bridge then anyhow.
Again it didn’t matter, I made up my mind a good while back that I’d like nothing to do with them. So this made that all easier and I’m just thankful it happened before I got an allocation. I was about to get a little raw on the phone and then he said “and we’ll refund your deposit right away” and it was a weight off the shoulders moment.
