I only mention as a heads-up to others who might be in a similar situation. I think my scenario was a little rare because I made the deal with what turned out to be a markup dealer before they knew how hot the new 86 would get. If I tried to pull the trigger just a few weeks or a month later I don't think they would have agreed to MSRP. I guess kudos to them for not throwing me under the bus sooner?

Now that truly sucks! And agreement should be an agreement even if they had the circumstances change there is no reasonable excuse for that.
If you had a written contract you could certainly fight it but at some point it wouldn't be worth the trouble. Probably wouldn't want to work with that dealer anymore anyway.
