We used to tell people its a "factory order" as its so much simpler. But now with the current shortages we explain what is actually happening. Toyota builds what they can, and then matches them as best they can. No guarantee they build your request

Ya I should have said "factory order" not factory order. This is exactly how it was explained to me. It isn't really any different from the other manufacturers when you boil it down. Not many are like Corvette or such where they say "Oh John Smith just ordered a car with these specs let's get busy and build it"
