So he opted for the non-hybrid and a few weeks later they confirmed that he'd get it June 16th. Monday of this week the dealer calls to say the delivery has been pushed out by Toyota to the first week of August.

Thats all 110% normal. Its on going supply chain issues. By the time information makes its way from suppliers, to factorys, to national management, to zone, to dealers. The information is already out dated.
Everything is f@cked right now lol. Its not the dealers (in most cases)
