You can factory order any other Toyota model you want just not the 86.
In Canada they use an allocation system for all vehicles. Every "factory order" is actually a "sold order request"; a request to be allocated that particular package with the customers information attached

Factory plans a build list

Sends build list to national

National decides a sold order request fill rate % based on dealer sales plans and # of outstanding orders nationally

That % of unit are used to fill sold order requests (what most people are told are "factory orders")

Remaining units are given to zone

Zone allocates remaining scheduled builds as stock

Dealers get an ETA based on planned build date

Vehicle goes into production and ETA is adjusted

Vehicle is built, ETA adjusts,

Vehicle ships, ETA adjusts, etc




We used to tell people its a "factory order" as its so much simpler. But now with the current shortages we explain what is actually happening. Toyota builds what they can, and then matches them as best they can. No guarantee they build your request
