I purchased a set from japanparts.com. Pics are attached.
I'm a terrible judge of aftermarket parts, so take it all with a grain of sale. When I have friends drive my car - they don't realize I've changed anything, so nothing is transformative.
The same time as the springs went on the car got the STI rlca set and Pedders offset front top mounts as well as SPC camber bolt lower and crash bolt upper. The car rides probably a few milimeters lower than stock but also hard to judge because I swapped over 17x8 6UL wheels with 225/45 Falken RT660 tires. Maybe it'd look more pronounced with the factory 18" wheels. Point being, visually they don't do much of anything.
The best way to install the springs is the lift method, in my opinion - put the spring on the perch, attach the lower strut bolt to the hub, then use a jack to lift up the hub and align the top mount through the holes and get a few nuts loosely on. I tried reassembling the STI springs with shocks and top mount with spring compressors and could not get it it work. Be sure to have a pass through socket and tighten it manually with the Allen key in to prevent the strut spinning - do NOT rely just on an impact wrench, I thought it was enough sapping it with the impact wrench, it was not. Had a little clunk on first drive, got the pass through, and realized just how much more it needed to be tightened!
As far as driving impressions go... I'd really love to meet up with someone with a stock BRZ to do a back to back. I think it drives great - it's probably slightly stiffer than I remember the stock setup but it does control the bouncing when driving through dips/undulations much better. It's the only obvious/noticeable change. But other than that I don't know of any difference. I'm not a fan of stiff suspension setups, I like to romp over the curbs and I think the springs do a great job with the factory struts not upsetting the car when the gators get smacked. I'm a fat guy and dislike getting jostled around in the seat! I like em, no negatives only positives and would immediately do them again if I had a new BRZ.
If you're looking for a drop or a stiffer ride, I'd look elsewhere.
