There is a plan to build "X" units, that number is then divided among the dealers and they are told how many of each model to expect per year. Some get 1, others 2-3, larger dealers a few more. Dealers placing more requests wont make the factory build more. So at this point in 2022 model year virtually every planned unit has been allocated and all dealers are capped out as they reached there plan number. It all balances out and there is no way to get "more".

From what I've watched, once the cars are scheduled to be built and the allocation is given, it takes about 8 weeks for it to reach vancouver port. Then another 2-6 weeks depending how backed up the port is and what province you are in.

I am 98% sure this is the last month 22 models will be scheduled for build and allocated. I think next month we will see the first 23 allocations, which best case would then arrive in August. And then there will be new sale plan numbers for 23.

If you've ordered from a high volume dealer theres a better chance they get priority for the first allocations. Often the first vehicles are only allocated as stock to the larger dealers, even though there are open sold requests. There is picking and choose, and a bit of favourite playing.

My own ordered that was entered the first day possible, august 2021, was passed over 3 cycles before being filled. I didnt get the car until last week. Larger dealers got Red Prem MT for stock before my order was filled. Also the 23 special edition coming out will effect things.

Realistically, if your order was not filled during the recent allocations, you're looking at the car arriving anywhere from August to May.
Thanks for the response guys.
This really makes me feel bad tbh.
I ordered the BRZ in December, and I was unlucky. I waited till April and wasted my time with Subaru. They didn't even place the order. Then, I cancel my order and went to Toyota to order the GR86 and now I hear that I even messed up ordering that too and its too late.
At the same time, I ordered the 2023 Nissan Z which they said was coming in Summer 2022. I guess maybe thats my only hope of getting something this year. But even that will be horribly delayed because I'm #36 on the list.
This is truly sad.

The chip shortage and all these delays are absolutely ridiculous. Half of it doesn't make sense. But I guess I'm forced to wait now.
