I'm actually surprised it got a top safety pick+ even for the automatic, I genuinely thought the crash prevention sections would've marked it down because the BRZ/GR86 uses the most basic Eyesight system. The rest of the testing though, its nice to see it perform extremely well when taking a hit, it definitely did better than the old car. I am curious how it will fare on the new side impact test, which was updated and harder since the speed was raised and the weight was increased to simulated SUV or pickup truck impact. Seems our car is the lightest of the ones that got IIHS's top awards.
