I haven't driven Subaru's version, but a similar system in the X5 is just as bad. On a test drive I went around a clover-leaf on ramp like I was drunk. The lane was narrow which meant even staying as close to the center of the lane as possible had the car bumping me side to side all the way around. I fought it constantly. It was really fun when I tried to avoid a pothole in the road and the lane keeping shoved my right into the middle of it.
The dealership salesman's comment was something like, "Yeah, it really sucks. We just tell people to shut if off. It keeps them from constantly coming back and trying to get the Service Deparment to fix it."

I'll take any feature that you can readily/easily shut off or adjust. Now I wish the ASC in our cars was controllable, but it took me 10 seconds to unplug.
