yeah, the vehicle is warrantied with the included and tested components/fluids. altering which fluid/components are installed void the warranty on that part, as those the alterations are no longer tested/certified to work for any length of time, or not effect other parts negatively.
now, this should only void your transmission warranty, and if you have valve cover issues, they should still be covered under the magnuson moss act, as the alterations were to the transmission, which would not effect motor leaking issues, but YMMV applies.
this guy tried taking that act further than anyone i've ever heard of, and would've lost a ton of money in legal fees had he kept going:
